Highlights

Add and edit

Add and edit events from the menu bar calendar

Type “Lunch with Sam tomorrow 1pm 45m /Work” and watch it parse as you type. Click any event to change its time, calendar, alert, location, notes or URL in place. Delete this or all future occurrences, and undo.

How editing works
Next meeting

Your next meeting in the menu bar, with a countdown

The menu bar reads “Standup in 12m”, hides when nothing is coming for a few hours, and ⌘J joins Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex and the rest, with Outlook Safe Links unwrapped.

Set up the countdown
Time zones

Time zones in the menu bar and in the calendar

A second clock in your menu bar pattern, and a world-clock strip under the grid you can scrub to see everyone's hour at once.

macOS 14 and later

A menu bar calendar for macOS 14 Sonoma and later

Every feature on Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe and Golden Gate. The alternatives have moved on: Itsycal's current build needs macOS 27 and Dato's needs 26 (checked 6 November 2026).

Itsycal is the current 0.28.0 build, which needs macOS 27; its 0.15.15 build for macOS 11 to 26 no longer gets features and has no reminders. Dato's current build needs macOS 26, and its quick add reads only the date and time from a typed title, in English. Competitor details checked 6 November 2026 on each vendor's site; confirm before relying on them.

Frequently asked questions

Does Blipcal work with Google Calendar and Outlook?
Yes. Blipcal shows every calendar your Mac already has, so Google, Outlook, Exchange, iCloud and CalDAV accounts added in System Settings under Internet Accounts all appear. There is nothing to sign in to in the app itself. How calendar access works.
Can I edit events, or only add them?
Edit everything in place. Click an event to change its title, time, calendar, alert, location, notes or URL, delete this or all future occurrences, and undo. Attendee lists show, but changing attendees is still done in Calendar.
Which macOS versions does it run on?
macOS 14 Sonoma and later, with every feature, on Macs with Apple silicon. That covers Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe and Golden Gate. Intel Macs are not supported.
Is it a subscription?
No. Blipcal is $19 once for two Macs, with one year of free updates. After that year the version you have keeps working for as long as you like. See pricing.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
The month grid, today's date in the menu bar and keyboard navigation keep working free, for ever. Events, the agenda, editing, quick entry, the menu bar text and countdown, time zones and reminders ask for a license.
Does it replace the system clock?
It can. Write your own date and time pattern for the menu bar, hide the system clock in Control Centre settings, or keep the clock and have Blipcal beside it with just the date icon. The pattern reference.
Is my calendar data sent anywhere?
No. Your calendars and reminders stay on your Mac. The only thing that talks to our server is the license check when you activate. Read the privacy policy.
